Year 4
Judaism Workshop
As apart of their topic on Judaism, Year 4 had a workshop where they were able to look at religious artefacts. The children enjoyed looking at artefacts such as the Dreidel (a Jewish spinning game), Kippa (a head covering worn) and Hanukkah menorah (candles). The children also looked closely at a Torah, which is written in Hebrew, as well as being shown how it works. The children were shown how different parts of the Jewish calendar is celebrated.
During the session, the children looked at the artefacts and set questions to be answered by each other and the leading teacher.
At the end of the session, the children tried some food that would be eaten when remembering Exodus (the freeing of the slaves in Egypt).
