Week beginning 4th January
Hello Year 5!
Happy New Year! We hope Santa brought you lots of lovely presents this year and that you had a lovely Christmas and New Year with your family.
Welcome back to school, all be it in a different way to how we all would have liked. Now that we find ourselves in another lockdown, we hope you and your families are safe and well. Look after each other, offer to help with the chores around the house and have fun spending family time together again that so many of you said you enjoyed during the first lockdown. Hopefully this second lockdown won't be for long this time and we can all get back to the classroom soon.
Whilst we are in this lockdown, we will upload work for you to complete at home in the remote learning area. Please make sure you are completing the work as it will help you when you are able to return to school. We have uploaded links that will take you to some different teachers on Oak Academy who will teach you how to do certain activities in Maths and English, and some are Powerpoints and worksheets of what we are (and would have been doing together) in school. We would love to see your work when you have finished the school day so please send your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org
During each school day, you can still go onto and use Reading Plus and TT Rockstars for your reading and maths. We would recommend half an hour a day on Reading Plus as it will really help you with your reading and comprehension. You can also complete reading on Purple Mash which has also got lots of lovely books for you to read.
If you have any problems, email using the email address we have given you or phone the school office who shall give us the message.
Remember, stay safe and we hope to see you soon.
From Mrs Clayton and Miss Prescott
