Weekly Timetable

You will need to practise your spellings throughout the week. Use the different techniques that we use in school such as: Look, cover, write, check; finding the definitions of each work; writing sentences that use the words accurately.

In the week, on a Tuesday afternoon there is time to practise your spellings but remember little and often works well. On Friday, get somebody at home to test you on the spellings and see how successful you are. Good luck!

Reading Plus and TT rockstars

You must use Reading Plus at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes - we will be checking this each week to ensure that you are using it. In addition, you also need to rehearse your tables 3 times a week on TT rockstars for 15 minutes at a time. Again, this will be monitored in school.

On Tuesday, it is 'Safer Internet Day'. To celebrate, in Year 6, we are going to look at cyberbullying in more detail. Above there is a PowerPoint and Poster that will give you more information about cyberbullying. In addition, there are also a couple of activities that we thought you would enjoy relating to 'Safer Internet Day'.

Task 1 - look at the Power Point and poster

Task 2 - Watch the following video links

Task 3 - write an acrostic poem relating to cyber bullying. Remember, an acrostic poem starts with the letters of the chosen theme so today each sentence will start with the letters from the word cyber bullying.

Once you have finished your poems, we would love you to share them with us via Year 6 email address.

On Tuesday, you may want to join in with the BBC 'Safer Internet Day' live lesson and we have included the link below.
