Mindfulness Minutes - Activity 1
Have a go at some paper origami. A document for an origami bird is included below.
Mindfulness Minutes - Activity 2
Yoga is a fantastic way to relax and be in the moment. Yoga is a great way for you to enjoy exercise as yoga can be done alone or in a group and you don't need anything but yourself to enjoy yoga. Yoga is free and fun. Try out some of the yoga poses on the cards.
How does completing yoga make you feel? Does it make you relax?
Mindfulness Minutes - Activity 3
Taking a moment to be calm and relaxed during a busy day can help us feel settled and happy. Taking slow and gentle breaths, in and out, can help us to feel better if we are worried, frightened or sad.
Imagine you are blowing up a balloon - take a gentle, deep breath in and slowly try to fill up your imaginary balloon. Tie a note in the end and tie on a string.
See the sheet for a full explanation of the activity.
Mindfulness Minutes - Activity 4
Idea 1 - listen carefully with your eyes closed to any sounds you can hear. After one minute, open your eyes and write down everything you heard.
Idea 2 - Find something with a strong and pleasant scent e.g. lavender or orange peel and place it close to your nose. Try to concentrate on the smell for a whole minute.
Idea 3 - For a whole week, at the same time, think of one thing that you are thankful for.
