Parent Guides

Information on graded books used in school.


We believe that children benefit from reading from a range of books pitched at their level. The main reading scheme (graded) books used in school to develop readers are shown below.

Children are heard reading regularly and progress through the stages of the National book Bands. 

Their choice of book is independent and children may occasionally select a book that is too easy or too challenging for them. School pupil librarians are trained to assist all children in Library book selection.
