Hamstead Sport...Football... Cup Final Hamstead 0 Ferndale 6

All good winning runs come to an end...unfortunately the team's run of high scoring victories came to an end at the worst time...a cup final. The team started well and chances and half chances were shared by both teams before Ferndale took the lead. A second goal followed shortly afterwards putting real pressure on HJS to respond. Hamstead had a great chance to score just before the break but a good save from the Ferndale goalkeeper effectively stopped the chance of any comeback. A third Ferndale goal saw the team visibly lose some confidence as the second half saw a strong, powerful Ferndale team add to the scoreline. A consolation goal was on the cards as a penalty was awarded but the kick summed up the game, as a good shot hit the post.

Well done to all of the team who played so well to reach a cup final...we hope the medal serves to act as a reminder of how well they played to get there.
