7th April 2022
Thank you to all the parents who recently supported Parents Evening via our phone call system. We hope that this was an opportunity to discuss any issues with class teachers. We also value all of the responses to the survey that was sent and will look at ways to make further improvements. Our aim is to now return to face-to-face meetings in the future. In addition, it was also great to see so many parents and relatives at the recent Book-Look sessions for all year groups. I hope you enjoyed the opportunity to look at your child’s work from this year. The children certainly seemed to enjoy the chance to share their work with you. Moving forward, we now hope, with restrictions being eased, that we get the chance to invite you in for some different sessions and activities over the coming months.
During this week, the children have enjoyed an Art and Music Curriculum Day. They have produced some amazing work based on different composers. Throughout the day, they were able to share lots of new learning they had gained about these composers. Over the summer term, we will be exploring more work around the Commonwealth Games to celebrate Birmingham being the host city. All year groups will be involved in some sports activities – with some going forward to represent the school at mini competitions and festivals against local schools. There will also be some class based activities and external speakers in school to help children understand more about the Commonwealth.
We will be continuing to monitor attendance closely over the summer term. It is vitally important that children are in school so that they benefit from consistent learning and continue to develop social relationships formed in schools with their friends. We have given out individual badges to reward pupils who have shown high levels of attendance over the Spring term. A special congratulations go out to the 55 pupils who have had 100% attendance this term – this is a great achievement. We are very proud of you!
Congratulations to Mr Baines’ class for the highest class attendance over the term with 95.2%. I hope we can all work hard to ensure that attendance levels continue to increase over the rest of the academic year.
Easter Egg Raffle
Thank you to all of those pupils who bought raffle tickets for the Easter Egg raffle. Each class have had a prize draw today with winners receiving their Easter egg. There were also two extra eggs for Lower School and Upper School winners.
We will be using any money raised to purchase extra resources for the Edible Garden in school so that the children can enjoy these to support their learning.
Finally, all of the staff and governors would like to wish you all a Happy Easter and look forward to seeing you all in the summer term.
Mr N Fowler
