Mindfulness minutes
Mindfulness Minutes - Eco-schools
Between January and June schools have been asked to chose four weeks of a term when pupils will lead a series of mindfulness activities across the whole school.
AT HJS, we believe mindfulness activities are very important especially as we continue to be in lockdown. By practicing mindfulness, pupils can learn to become more aware of their own thoughts, feeling, sensations, and the environment around the,. It helps us to refocus and re-center on the present, rather than the past or the future. As a result, we have decided to take part in the mindfulness minutes campaign over the first four weeks of the Spring term.
Each week, we will upload suggestions of mindfulness activities and your child/children can choose which activity they participate in.
As a school, each week, we will then submit how many minutes each class has completed. All we ask is that during each week you email to let us know how many mindfulness minutes have been completed so we can add up the scores in school and submit our totals.
It would be lovely to receive some pictures of pupils completing the mindfulness activities or their work completed from the mindfulness task to put on the school website.
Which class/year group will complete the most mindfulness minutes?
Good Luck,
Mrs Mercer
